Blooming for Life and the Kuwait Red Crescent Society Presents a Unique Floral Exhibition at the Avenues

krcsThe inaugural Blooming For Life (BFL) indoor event, benefiting the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) with the support of Kuwaiti companies and people will take place at the Avenues shopping mall april, 2008.

During this week more than 40.000 tulips and lilies will transform the Avenues into the worldÕs most beautiful indoor garden. An oasis will be created alongside floral arrangements featuring unique tulip varieties and a blend of other flowers.

For the launch of the worldwide project, Blooming For Life (BFL) will create a one-of-a kind indoor display. The goal of the exhibition at the Avenues is to raise funds for the KRCS. Sponsorship can be obtained from as little as KD 250, with appropriate name recognition prominently displayed on customized floral arrangements.

The Avenues will be overflowing with beautiful floral arrangements. All participating sponsors (individuals welcomed) will have an opportunity to create their own arrangements under the guidance of renowned floral artist Peter Boeijkens. This will include a professional lecture, followed by hands on assistance from Peter. BFL will provide all materials required to create spectacular arrangements.

These tulips are planted indoors and they look like they are growing in a natural garden. This picture was taken at an indoor garden in Holland.

As a sponsor, name recognition will be prominent as a supporter of KRCS and BFL. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges and evaluated on a variety of criteria. Prizes will be awarded accordingly.

There will be a central point in the mall where the arrangements of individual participants will be displayed.

For diamond-level sponsors there will be a small garden (created by Dutch floral artists) measuring 12 square meters with a billboard (supplied by sponsor) of 1,20 meter by 1 meter.

Garden of Kuwait

This garden will contain individually purchased flowers that anyone can buy from the Red Crescent in the Avenues. Every flower will be planted with the name of the buyer alongside. With the continued support from the Kuwaiti people the garden will grow every day.

The distinct nature of this event is anticipated to draw attention from the media and the public. All ideas for activities and special events are welcome, as we coordinate our efforts with the Avenues, KRCS, and KACCH.

Blooming For Life Educational Program

The youth is the the future. Learning about the environment starts at an early age. Blooming For Life (BFL) encourages students to discover nature hands-on through our 'Seeds of Change' educational program.

A Dutch professional flower arranger will be visiting schools to help students explore the world through fresh flowers. Students interact with a selection of flora with varying textures, colors, sizes, and shapes that help re-engage their relationship with nature. BFL?s exclusive approach compliments an educational curriculum using flowers to teach language, mathematics, geometry and art.

All the student arrangements per school will be formed to one big arrangement displayed at the indoor garden in the Avenues from 15 till 22 April A billboard measuring 1 meter by 1,20 meter will also be placed in the garden containing the school's information.

The costs

10 KD per student (includes: a beautiful selection of fresh flowers, greens [foliage], container and foam). Our program also includes an educational kit outlining the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. More than 50% of the proceeds from each student workshop go to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society.

Our 'Seeds of Change' program passes on the elements of design, scale, proportion, balance and harmony. These principals are essential to teaching the next generation their role as responsible world caretakers. Together we will plant hope.
